Chapter 8 Quiz on Wednesday, January 25

How nice am I?  So nice that for the quiz on Wednesday you may use all of the worksheets we have completed for Chapter 8 on the quiz.  So, it’s basically an open-note quiz!

Since you don’t really need to study for the Chapter 8 quiz, you can use time tonight to continue to prepare for the Semester Final!

You will miss me next year!

Your First Semester Final is THIS WEEK!

The First Semester Final will be 100 questions and be scored as 200 points.

The Final will cover Chapters 2,3,5,6 & 7.  I handed out a comprehensive study guide for the Final during the week of 1/9.  You should use that to prepare for the test.

You may use one-page, one-sided, hand-written notes on the final.

Happy New Year and Holy Cow!

I’m looking forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday, just two days before my birthday! (January 5th)

I thought you might find this information on our government’s debt issues:

It puts into a much better perspective why the U.S. credit rating was downgraded:

* U.S. Tax revenue: $ 2,170,000,000,000

* Federal budget: $ 3,820,000,000,000

* New debt: $ 1,650,000,000,000

* National debt: $14,271,000,000,000

* Recent budget cuts: $38,500,000,000

Let’s now remove 8 zeros and pretend it’s a household budget:

* Annual family income: $21,700

* Money the family spent: $38,200

* New debt on the credit card: $16,500

* Outstanding balance on the credit card: $142,710

* Total budget cuts: $385

Happy History and I’ll see you on Jan. 2nd!
